A tournament’s prize breakdown is fixed when seats go on sale and cannot be changed afterwards. Here is exactly how the money is structured and settled.

Structure

Read directly from the tournament you played on Lichess once it finishes. We publish what Lichess reports.
Account standing on Lichess is verified at this point, not at play time — fair-play flags can arrive days after a tournament ends.
Each place is matched to its prize tier, and the integrity check is stored against the award as evidence.
The organiser records the payout with a reference. It then appears in your results history.
Prize rules
Once seats are on sale the split is locked. Nobody can quietly reduce a prize after people have paid to enter.
Anyone who somehow played without a seat is excluded from prize allocation entirely.
A prize is never marked paid while the winner’s Lichess account carries a terms-of-service flag. That check hard-blocks approval.
If a tournament doesn’t run, the organiser returns entry fees to the original payment method.
If your admission re-check fails before the tournament starts, the organiser returns your entry fee in full.
Books, memberships and coaching are shown as what they are, never dressed up as a cash figure.
